Breakfast and the Beach

We had a very relaxing, low key weekend. So low key that Mommy didn't take ONE picture on Saturday. A funny story. Mommy and I were playing ball in the front yard on Saturday afternoon. She stood in one place and I ran and chased the ball. Eventually, I got tired and went to sit on the steps. When Mommy asked who was going to play with her, first I told her "Nyla" and then "Zoe" and then I shrugged my shoulders. I guess if she wants a long-term playmate, she needs to move a little, too.
In these first two pictures, we are at The Cow, our favorite local yocal coffee place. Of course, the coffee is for Mommy and Daddy....I have a bagel, usually.

After coffee, we played in the sand....

And, then started practicing for my potential future as a gymnast. Watch carefully ... I was keeping Mommy on her toes and testing her to make sure she was paying attention.

Eating Breakfast Al Fresco

Daddy took me to Noah's this morning and instead of my typical blueberry bagel breakfast, I opted for the fresh fruit cup. I couldn't wait to eat it and sat down on my neighbor's step to enjoy.

Zoe turns 3!

We were the first guests to arrive at Zoe's party...I tried to have Zoe spirit with my butterfly wings (Zoe LOVES dress up), but they didn't last long.

Zoe is playing with this Travel Memory Game we gave her (from Melissa and Doug). What a cool game.

Hugging Sophia...

Birdie, the entertainment

Sliders and fries....I traded mine in for a rib and some chicken (the adult food)

James, tearing into a rib (and to think the family was vegetarian less than a year ago!)

Cake time!

Cracking open the pinata....

My loot...and Rebecca sharing hers with me

What a fun birthday party.....Thanks, Michael and Lisa!

Visit from Safia/Sunset with Julie and Friends

Safia came to visit me today!

We read together and ate together...

And did a little hugging before it was time for Safia and her daddy, Bryon, to go home.

Then, Julie came over to visit with her friends from Canada. We walked to the beach and I was so joyful.

We laughed a little and watched the sunset....

And then, I played and played in the sand and wouldn't leave. Mommy swept me up and off we went home for a great night's rest.

My second haircut!

I am getting good at this! (if you listen closely, there is a two word phrase Mommy thinks I am saying in the middle of the video to Jonathan....can anyone guess? Mommy says this to Mystic when she barks a lot.)

My 19 month Appointment with Dr. Hamilton

Here I am on the big girl scale for my 19 month appointment. I weighed 26.5 lbs (80th percentile) and am now 33 3/4 inches (90th percentile)....which means only 2 1/4 more inches and I can go on some rides at the Santa Monica Pier! I wasn't all that happy on the big girl scale. Just about as happy as I was below when I was 6 months old (March 12, 2008) when I weighed 10 lbs less!

Here I am with Mama peacefully before my shots. I am holding the bribery lolllipop...

But, it didn't seem to keep my mind off those shots. I am getting my second bandaid here.

All done! Until 22 months.

Ladybugs,,,

Sending a few hugs out to our friend Jenny waiting for her sweet Mia from China. Jenny, July seems so so close, but yet ridiculously far away for you who have waited so patiently and gracefully. Your dream WILL triumph over reality....very soon. I can't wait to share in the joy of your referral day.....bring it on!

What does this mean?

So, yesterday AT THE BEACH, I found another ladybug.....who finds ladybugs at the beach? I guess I do. It really must mean something. Any guesses?

Late Afternoon at the Beach

Here I am on my way to the beach. If you look closely, you will see that my purse is sagging. You might think I have a LOT of money, but no, I carry around a lot of rocks with me!

Zoe, the Mermaid!

Leaving the beach, Zoe and I pretended we were doggies.

Flirting with James when we were almost home. I tried to give him a kiss and he slapped me! In this picture, he is looking at me adoringly.
