Why We Love Venice

Sunny Family Day Sunday

Almost 80 degrees....January.

We are so lucky to live here in Southern California. Today, we ventured out to the Sunday Farmers Market. We haven't done that in quite awhile. We got going a little late because the buggy for Jordan who was close to his nap time had a flat and needed to be fixed.

So, we got to the market JUST in time for me to ride "Millie" (what we call Camille) one time.

After the market, we continued our bike ride down to the pier and rode the ferris wheel and couple of other rides. Here is our view from way up there.

Can you tell Jordan wasn't a huge fan of the Carousel? He was trying to figure it all out and when it got going fast, he started to cry....which is funny because even his first ride on a real pony, he wasn't scared.

We love family day Sunday.....except, that it is the day before the school/work days start over.

The Venice Canal Boat Parade 2011

The Venice Canal Boat Parade is an annual event every December. This year, like every other, it was a lot of fun. There are often boats with political messages, some are just decorated, others have performers and this year, there was one with a baby not older than 3 months and an 11 year old doggie (with their Mom). The air was crisp and cool.

Tati and her family joined us as did M&m, Julie and Steven and NannyG and Richard. There were at least 2 Hanukkah boats and a Duck-u-py the Venice Canals. After some fun, we went back home for more playing and snacks.

Venice Canals Boat Parade

Yesterday afternoon, we headed out just before 4 to the Venice Canals Boat Parade. We were going to meet Nyla and Merrick there since they were running late. Jordan was ready and eager to go! We saw this Santa on our walk over.

Mazzy and her Daddy were there, too!

Here are some of the boats. We were watching from Orson Bean's house!

Naughty or nice?

The annual Hanukkah entry...

Great music came from this boat

Nyla, me and Mazzy

View from the stroller on one of the bridges....the sun started to go down....pink sky

After the parade, we went to Merrick's boat and had dinner and went for a relaxing harbor cruise. Here is Jordan's in Merrick's chair on the boat

So relaxing that I fell asleep while cruising

Here is Merrick with his Mommy getting a little sleeeepy

And our captain, Michael!

This morning, before my birthday party, Mama, Grandma and Jordan went to the Abbot Kinney Festival..these are just a few pictures that show the color of Venice and why we all love living here. They went to breakfast and then walked the fair....Daddy and I went to the Farmers Market with Grandpa!
