Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Today is a VERY special day for so many reasons. For me personally, it is my Grandma's birthday. Below, I am running with Grandma's present outside the Post Office on Sunday. I really didn't want to give it up because it was fun having this beautiful bag with a present in it on my shoulder. Eventually, I did and it is now on its way to Grandma, but due to the important events in the nation (MLK Day and the inauguration), it may be a little late (sorry, Grandma).

In addition to my Grandma's birthday, today is an incredible day for the nation and for the world. Barack Obama was sworn in as our 44th President and our first African American President. I will post more later on what this means to me, my Mommy and Daddy and the world.

Farmers' Market Sunday

Mema and Pepa are here!

Last night, Mema and Pepa arrived from Florida. We had a very busy day, starting with a walk down to get coffee and have a bagel.....then, we went to the park and I brought my two best friends ....

Mommy thought she was funny by moving them to the airplane when I wasn't watching...

Later at night, we had Michael, Lisa and Zoe over for dinner. We had yummy ribs and chicken. Mema spent a long time with me reading on the couch and playing with my magnets and my felt board. What a fun day!

16 month Dr. Appointment

Today, I went to see Dr. Hamilton. I was 32.5 inches tall (grew 2 inches since my last visit) -- 85th percentile and almost 25 lbs (70th percentile). Dr. said that everything looks good.

Of course, I got two shots -- one per leg -- but the consolation prize was my first lollipop. Yummy yummy.

Happy Birthday Isabel! -- Lots of Pictures!

Today, we went to Isabel's 2nd birthday party at her grandparent's house! For the first hour, we played in the yard. Above Isabel is blowing bubbles with her Grandma (from Chicago). Below, I am climbing up to go down the fast moving slide!

Here I go!

This is Isabel's great grandma and her grandpa (from Chicago).

And, this is Isabel's Mommy (right) holding the hand of August, one of Isabel's younger friends.

Here I am with Isabel and her cousin about to go down the slide...

For the second hour, we had so much fun singing and dancing with Music. Not to confuse, but the guitar player below is named "Music" and she played music and we all made music together.

Here I am dancing with Daddy

....and making music with Daddy. Mommy was there, too, but she was mostly behind the camera. We made some music together, too, but the camera forgot to take a picture.

Then, we played with the parachute.

And, finally, we had cupcakes! Here is Isabel with her Mommy and Daddy (Ariel and Brad).

Yummy yummy

A little walk to walk off the cupcake (I really only had a few nibbles of the icing and let Mommy and Daddy eat mine; fruit is much more interesting).

Rollercoaster video from Isabel's Party

I went on the rollercoaster a few times and really liked it. You wouldn't know from this video.

I am tired of waiting....

I have been waiting, along with my Aunt Julie, for a year to meet my new friends (Julie's children). If I am tired of waiting, can you even imagine how she and Steven feel (don't want to confuse and say "Uncle Steven" because I might confuse someone to thinking that Julie is married to Uncle Steve!). Mommy and Daddy have known Julie and Steven since Mommy and Julie met almost exactly five years ago. Ever since then, Julie and Mommy (and of course, Daddy and Steven) have been hoping and waiting for a family (other than the fur-children they all love so much). Here is a beautiful picture of Julie with her friend Anne and Anne's daughter, Aliyah. We met Anne and Aliyah today with Julie at the Playa Vista playground....

While there, I played with Aliyah, but really, two little people were missing.....Julie's children. Both Anne and Mommy think that it will be very soon that they are home. But, of course, since Julie has been waiting for far too long, it is so hard to be as hopeful as the others waiting along with her.

Dear Julie and Steven's children: We can't wait for you to come home and make so many people happy. Your Mommy and Daddy can't wait, but I really can't wait because I know it will be so much fun to play with you and show you all of my favorite places.

Then, on Saturdays, we can all get together at Playa Vista and it won't seem like there are two little people missing.

A Few New Years Pics and Farmers Market Friday

New Years Pictures from our friends, Geri-Ann and Don:

My first toast!

This morning, we went to the Farmers Market. Before we left, I took a yogurt out of the refrigerator and wouldn't let Mommy put it back. So, Mommy loaded me up with a bib, blanket and some paper towels so that when I made a mess, we could clean it up and make my directorial debut.

My directorial debut...

Strollers and Babies

This afternoon, we went to Playa Vista to play. I was having a great time climbing, running, etc. until I saw a stroller just my size. I went over to play with it and it had a sweater in it that I took out. Mommy didn't want me playing with it because the owner wasn't anywhere nearby and didn't tell me I could. We went as far away from it in the park, but I wandered back at least 3 times. Finally, Mommy and Daddy decided that it was time to find me the stroller they promised awhile ago. So, off to ToysRUs we went. Well, while there, Daddy gave me a baby doll. I wanted to take it out of the box, but instead, Mommy found a tiny baby in a purse and gave it to me while we were shopping. There was no chance I was going to give her up when we were going to leave and Mommy decided that since it was only $6, she would buy it for me. Well, wouldn't you know, it was a recalled item? See how happy I am here with the purse on my shoulder and the baby in my arms? She was great while she lasted.

Happy Belated Birthday, Steven

Tonight, we went out to celebrate.....STEVEN! It was his ____th birthday on New Year's Eve, and we celebrated just a few short days later. Here is Steven with his new book on living the green life (as he does)....and we all should. Like me, I eat a lot of peas....they're green, right?

And, here is some of the yummy food we had this evening...

And, here is my belly after eating all of that delicious food.

Peace!

Getting tired!
