Thanksgiving in Florida!

I came to Florida to celebrate the Thanksgiving week with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve, my cousins (Zack, Alex and Stephanie), Mema, Pepa and Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ron. We are staying in Orlando until we go down to Mema and Pepa's house on Friday. So far, we have....

Gone to the Farmers' Market and listened to some music and danced.

Slid down a few slides

Put Mommy's sling on in various positions. It is my new binky. Makes me feel good.

Watched the fountains in Celebration....and every time they started shooting up, I ran to Mommy "Mama, Mama".

Another play date with Nyla

Sharing pasta with Nyla....and pushing her stroller. I have more videos than pictures....Soon, I will be able to post videos again :)

Play Date!

Today, I had a friend over. We go to music class together. We sang, danced, read and shared tomatoes. If Mommy could figure out how to upload the videos from our new camera to the blog, you would see some evidence of me dancing while we stacked with my stacker together. We were really good at playing together, not just parallel playing. And, it seems that I play much better with someone my age who has the same interests as me.

New Words!!

I have a few new words!!

Nose 11/4/08: I point to Mommy or Daddy's Nose and say "No" (don't really say a hard "s", but I am saying nose). Then, we rub nosies :)

Apple (11/12/08) -- I was pointing to the apple and Mommy heard me say it! And, then I said it again.

Meelie (since Oct or Nov?) -- This is for Camille, but I call her Meelie like everyone else. It has been awhile, but forgot to tell you all!

Thank You (11/15/08) -- Mommy and Daddy both heard me say it when Daddy gave me something (can't remember what it was now!)

GiGi (11/17/08) -- today, I saw a picture of me and Mommy (it is on her computer -- her screensaver). I pointed to me and said, "GiGi" and then pointed to Mommy and said "Mama"! Mommy was quite impressed that I recognized myself...

Visiting Aunt Julie

Today, Mommy and I went to visit Aunt Julie (and Mosey and Teddy, too). As always, Mosey covered me with wet kisses and I just loved it. I thought it was funny and kept going back for more. It was so nice to spend time with Julie and she let me ride her horsey....what fun!

Checking out the Surfers and Other Saturday Adventures

This morning, Daddy joined me and Mommy on our traditional Saturday morning walk to the beach.

First, I sat in the sand and played with it a bit, but Mommy was urging me to come see what was next.

And here they are! Okay, you can't really see how cute they are, but trust me.

After our beach walk, I did a little reading to Camille.

We did some tile shopping and then had a wonderful late lunch at Cafe Ugo in Culver City. We went to the pier again tonight for sunset, but sunset was SO early (4:50) that we actually missed it. Another fun and relaxing Saturday.

Ms. Independent

This morning, I walked over to the refrigerator and said "Milk". Mommy ran into the other room to get the milk I started drinking a few minutes earlier. When she brought it in to me, I threw a mini-tantrum pushing the milk away. I again pointed to the refrigerator and said "Milk". Mommy opened it and I stepped on the bottom of the refrigerator to reach my milk in the fridge and started drinking it. I WANTED TO GET THE MILK....

In addition to doing laundry, Nanny G had me do many chores.....like feeding Mystic and Camille as many biscuits as possible.

Venice Pier and Walking the Beach

This morning, Daddy joined me and Mommy for a walk on Venice Pier. It was much brighter this morning because it was an hour later than last week. We bumped into Greg and Enzo and I played with Enzo.

This afternoon, Mommy took me for a walk along the boardwalk. I stopped and played at this fountain for awhile and then kept sitting down in the middle of the sidewalk....

like here where I am playing with my bucket, my water and my suntan lotion.

Here, I lied down like I was ready to take a nap right in the middle of the grass. Mommy thought I was funny.

Farmers Market Friday

Mommy and Daddy have created a new tradition of taking me to the Farmers Market in Venice at the end of our street on Friday mornings. It is really fun. I usually go in my PJs but this week, I actually got dressed. We sit at the cafe in the market and Mommy has her coffee and ginger scone from Rockenwagner and I usually have some cheese kurd, but mostly I walk around with a plastic chair in my hand or sit in the chair (like below).

Visiting Dr. Dao

This morning, we went to visit Dr. Dao very early. Mommy couldn't find the camera so Daddy borrowed one from our neighbors at 7 AM! Can you believe Mommy forgot to use it? Anyway, I really loved meeting Dr. Dao. Mommy has told me so many great things about him. Our visit was short, but sweet.

O-B-A-M-A!

Do I look hopeful in the above picture? Today was Election Day and it was a historic day that we will all remember. Barack Obama became our President. I went with Mommy and Daddy to vote and Obama was my vote. Below I am looking out into the future with Mystic and feeling really good about it.

Farmers Market Sunday and Mother's Beach

We woke up this morning and it was RAINING. You sure wouldn't know it by the way we spent the rest of our day once the sun came out. We skipped Mommy and Me time at the pier and opted to go straight to the Farmers' Market. Instead of pony rides, I spent a bunch of time petting and feeding the animals.

Then, Mommy shared her corn on the cob with me and we all went to the park overlooking in the ocean where I go with Nanny G and Baby Grace. I did a bunch of sliding and swinging and then we headed home.

In the afternoon, I begged Mommy to take me out in my wagon and off we went. She took me to the park at Mother's Beach.

While there, I decided to do a little wading in the ocean.

More Milestones for the Month of October

New Words and Phrases: Nanny G tells Mommy that I say "Thank You", but Mommy hasn't heard it yet. If true, I now know 20 words/phrases. If not, then I am at 19. My new ones for this week are "Yummy Yummy". I said it while eating dinner at Saya's house. "Bath"....."Hello" Now, I hold a phone up to my ear and say "Hello". Doesn't quite sound like "Hello" but it is close. I know how to ask for water ("Wa-wa") so I don't have to point anymore!

Blowing Kisses: This week, I blew kisses to Mommy when she left for work. Usually I just wave and say Buh-Bye. I made Mema's day by blowing her a kiss this morning on Skype.

Blowing Bubbles: Although I can't quite blow bubbles, I now blow on the stick mimicking what Mommy and Daddy do. I think I need a little more fire power and I will get it down.

The Day After...Remodeling Fun

This morning, Mommy and I went to the pier and this is what we saw. It was a gorgeous morning.


When we got back, we had to go do some errands to make some final decisions for the remodel. First, we picked granite for the countertops. Then, we met the floor guy. Guess what? Floor guy must have been thinking of me because he suggested we meet in the parking lot of a playground!


The slide had static electricity. Check out my hair!

And, here, Mommy was making me laugh. I look like I am posing, don't I? With the hand position and all.

Last stop was at the plumbing supply store. I helped pick out faucets and tried out several bathtubs. While I was at it, I learned the word, "bath"!
