End of Summer Cut

Right before school, Gigi and Jordan went to Mama's stylist for a cut.  She has a cool skateboard seat.

Jordan dit great, but looks afraid here.

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is so inspiring.  We did a lot of gardening this year and look forward to growing new things next year.  We even had tomatoes from last year pop up (we know because they are much bigger than the baby tomatoes we planted).  They aren't ripe yet!

This was a Saturday Santa Monica Farmers Market this summer and Kelli joined us.

Always stop to smell the flowers.

Summer Camp

Summer flew by this year.  Gigi graduated from preschool at the end of June and went to kindergarten last week (that's for another post)!  In between, she spent most of her days at the beaches and in the mountains at camp.  Grace and Jordan joined her sometimes and even I joined her when our old neighbors came to visit.

Building with Richard in the sand.

Many of Gigi's friends both from the school year at both schools and from other times in her life came to camp.  They had some wonderful times.

Jordan chasing a seagull.

The day Zoe and family came.  We went to Leo Carillo.

We made some watercolor paintings mixed with sand for texture.

Gigi tried the boogie board and really liked it!

Bye summer!  See you next year!

We heart public transportation in our family

Jordan LOVES going on any form of public transportation, but particularly the "bu"s.  A few weeks ago, Daddy took us to Costco on the bus and today, we went to the Mar Vista Farmers Market.  Jordan was wearing a mixed set of jammies (my pajamas from when I was 2).

After we were refreshed with nap time and lunch, we boarded the Marina WaterBus and went to Fisherman's Village.

We left from Mother's Beach where many people were swimming and Stand Up Paddleboarding.

Of course, summertime = ice cream time.

Jordan's way of eating his cone.

Garden Updates

The raspberries are ripening every day.  We pick them in a bowl and sometimes on the way by as a snack.

And the cucumbers have made many salads together with the tomatoes.  Though the tomatoes are running a little behind and many are still green.

The Japanese eggplant are back in action.  And, the banana peppers are coming in by the dozen.  Allen made a tuna mixed with a banana pepper relish.  Delicioso!

Park City Getaway for the Mama and the Papa

Since I was born, Mama and Daddy have not gone away TOGETHER.  Only one away at a time for business or other.  But, when Michael was turning 5-0, it was time to go to the party in Park City.

L
Park City is a beautiful town with a lot of natural beauty in summer.  We have only ever gone in winter.

On the way to the party, a flock of sheep was in our path.

Happy Birthday, Michael!

On Sunday morning, we went to the Park Silly Market before heading back home.

a little rummy and Bloody Mary and popcorn.
