Happy 3rd Birthday, little (or big?) M

How could it be that Melese is three?

After a fun day at the beach, we went to M and m's house to celebrate Melese's 3rd birthday.

We played with his new drum set and Jordan rode Melese's DADDY's ride on toy.

We built a New Year's city.

And danced to the beat of an awesome band.

I pretended to be Mama leaning back on the horse.

Unfortunately, we had to leave before this AWESOME cake was cut because Mama and Daddy had a planned night out. Can you believe Melese's daddy made this? And, who thought he could come up with something as awesome as last year's garbage truck cake?

Jordan is excited about reading!

New Years Day at the beach!

In the morning, we headed out to Venice Beach....quickly the long sleeves came off.

Jordan wanted to be just like me and Zoe and climb climb climb.

Then, Michael gave Jordan some sand shoes.

The Feast of the Seven? Fishes

This year, the feast started with lobster sliders....then garlic shrimp...

Seared sesame tuna over piquillo sauce...

Mussels (recipe from Bar Pinotxo in Barcelona)

Arroz negro (with cuddlefish and scallops)

After all that food, no one really wanted the Branzino, so those that were really committed to SEVEN fishes had a small piece of smoked salmon.

Happy New Year!

Last night, our friends came back again to visit and invited another friend over. While the adults were enjoying their Feast of the Seven Fishes, we played hard.

And, made chocolate chip cookies.

Here's our toast.

More hiking on the bluffs

Today, we woke up and texted a few friends to see if we could get someone to join us at the bluffs. Camille hasn't been there in a long time. Luckily, even though very last minute, one of our friends said YES, even though yesterday, we took that friend on a crazy chase to find the "right" hike.

Jordan did a great job, running, walking the dogs and he fell a few times, but to be expected.

G loves J and hugged him a few times.
