Saturday in reverse

Since the sunset pictures are so beautiful, I thought I would post about Saturday in reverse. We took a walk to the beach at sunset with Mommy's colleague from TEN years ago who was here for a brief visit on their way home to Michigan.
For lunch, we went to Guelaguetza, a Mexican restaurant. I thought the tortillas belonged on my head as a hat.

At the park, they had a free jumpy house. I love jumping.

We went to the park to see Nyla who was with Nanny Grace and Richard for the day.

We started out the day with a little bit of reading and a bike ride for coffee and a visit to Teddy and his Mom and Dad and furbrother, Moses. Ted just had surgery, but looked great.

Something Good is Going to Happen Soon for Julie and Steven...

Last night, when Julie and Steven came to visit, one of Julie's two bracelets came off her wrist. This is not just any bracelet. It is one of her two bracelets that represent her two children who are coming HOME SOON from Ethiopia. How do I know that it will be SOON?

Well, even if you don't believe that there is some meaning in her bracelet coming off last night at OUR house....check out what landed on me today at the park...

Can you see it?

It is a tiny, red ladybug....

And, for those that don't know, in the adoption community, the appearance of a ladybug means something GOOD is going to happen soon.

For a little while, Mommy and I played with the ladybug. I was very gentle because I knew that it had to represent something good coming soon for Julie and Steven....and I can't wait!

A few other weekend pics...

Above I am modeling my new ski jacket that Mommy bought me for next year. It is a $167 jacket that Mommy bought for $12!! Wow. Bargains.

And here I am riding Daddy's bike today at the beach

After a long day...playing in the sun...riding my bike and hanging with my friend, Zoe.

Yoga and then Pizza Party

Tonight, I had a little yoga session. Above is my version of down dog. Julie and Steven came to visit and Daddy made us some delicious pizza! He made his own version of Mario Batali's pizzas from Pizzeria Mozza...

This is the fingerling potato and roquefort...

Quattro Stagione...

Sausage...

And Daddy made one more, but we didn't take a picture. Yum!

Aliya's Birthday Party, Shopping and More

Today, we went to Playa Vista to Aliya's birthday party. We met Aliya and her mom, Anne, through our friend Julie. Anne was so nice to invite us to Aliya's party. We had a great time!

I know how to climb this all by myself now...

Here is beautiful Julie with two sweeties. We can't wait until Julie is hugging her own two sweeties....

Here I am with M. She was pushing me...(Mommy says it was so sweet)

After the party, we went to the Waterside Plaza and played in the fountain.

AAAAhhhhhh. Felt so good on my toes.

And, then Daddy took me into the Brighton store (Mema -- watch out, I may spend all of your money here.) I found the perfect sized purse for me...and my mama doesn't even have a purse collection. I do already.

Flowery Sunday

We had a VERY fun day today. We were planning on going wildflower hunting and then Mommy read that it was going to be very windy (15-25 mph winds), so we decided to go to Malibu instead. Then, at the last minute, a neighbor told Mommy that the flowers were close to peak, so we went anyway. It was beautiful from the car, but I only went out once because it was SO windy.

We saw California poppies and coreopsis.

And lupine (the purple flower)

And, then on the way back, we stopped at McDonald's for my first time at the Playplace. Mommy was thinking about Leigh's story of going there with Sonia, but we really HAD to go somewhere because I was getting antsy in the car. It was too windy to just hang outside and we didn't know where there was a park, so the Playplace it was. And, I had a blast. (If you want to see last year's pictures, click on "wildflowers" under the tags on the right. This year, we went to a different area so there wasn't as much orange. We might just have to venture back next weekend if it is less windy!)

Then, shortly after we got home, Bryon and Safia came to visit and we went to our neighbor's house to celebrate Michael's birthday! Here are "the guys" barbecuing.

And, me eating corn

And, here's Safia! She was so sweet with me and fun to play with.

A little art before dinner...

The birthday boy and his sweet wife, Lisa

And a beautiful flower from Lisa's garden as the centerpiece. Very fragrant. A lovely end to a wonderful day.
