Visit from Safia/Sunset with Julie and Friends

Safia came to visit me today!

We read together and ate together...

And did a little hugging before it was time for Safia and her daddy, Bryon, to go home.

Then, Julie came over to visit with her friends from Canada. We walked to the beach and I was so joyful.

We laughed a little and watched the sunset....

And then, I played and played in the sand and wouldn't leave. Mommy swept me up and off we went home for a great night's rest.

My second haircut!

I am getting good at this! (if you listen closely, there is a two word phrase Mommy thinks I am saying in the middle of the video to Jonathan....can anyone guess? Mommy says this to Mystic when she barks a lot.)

My 19 month Appointment with Dr. Hamilton

Here I am on the big girl scale for my 19 month appointment. I weighed 26.5 lbs (80th percentile) and am now 33 3/4 inches (90th percentile)....which means only 2 1/4 more inches and I can go on some rides at the Santa Monica Pier! I wasn't all that happy on the big girl scale. Just about as happy as I was below when I was 6 months old (March 12, 2008) when I weighed 10 lbs less!

Here I am with Mama peacefully before my shots. I am holding the bribery lolllipop...

But, it didn't seem to keep my mind off those shots. I am getting my second bandaid here.

All done! Until 22 months.

Ladybugs,,,

Sending a few hugs out to our friend Jenny waiting for her sweet Mia from China. Jenny, July seems so so close, but yet ridiculously far away for you who have waited so patiently and gracefully. Your dream WILL triumph over reality....very soon. I can't wait to share in the joy of your referral day.....bring it on!

What does this mean?

So, yesterday AT THE BEACH, I found another ladybug.....who finds ladybugs at the beach? I guess I do. It really must mean something. Any guesses?

Late Afternoon at the Beach

Here I am on my way to the beach. If you look closely, you will see that my purse is sagging. You might think I have a LOT of money, but no, I carry around a lot of rocks with me!

Zoe, the Mermaid!

Leaving the beach, Zoe and I pretended we were doggies.

Flirting with James when we were almost home. I tried to give him a kiss and he slapped me! In this picture, he is looking at me adoringly.

Michael and Mariangels visit!

For some reason, I don't have a picture of both M&M together with me. This morning, I showed Daddy where I wanted my table and chair relocated (right in front of the kitchen sink) so I could sit down and have my lox and Os. I invited Michael to the table and he sat with me while I ate.

This is upside down me with a baguette.

Saturday in reverse

Since the sunset pictures are so beautiful, I thought I would post about Saturday in reverse. We took a walk to the beach at sunset with Mommy's colleague from TEN years ago who was here for a brief visit on their way home to Michigan.
For lunch, we went to Guelaguetza, a Mexican restaurant. I thought the tortillas belonged on my head as a hat.

At the park, they had a free jumpy house. I love jumping.

We went to the park to see Nyla who was with Nanny Grace and Richard for the day.

We started out the day with a little bit of reading and a bike ride for coffee and a visit to Teddy and his Mom and Dad and furbrother, Moses. Ted just had surgery, but looked great.

Something Good is Going to Happen Soon for Julie and Steven...

Last night, when Julie and Steven came to visit, one of Julie's two bracelets came off her wrist. This is not just any bracelet. It is one of her two bracelets that represent her two children who are coming HOME SOON from Ethiopia. How do I know that it will be SOON?

Well, even if you don't believe that there is some meaning in her bracelet coming off last night at OUR house....check out what landed on me today at the park...

Can you see it?

It is a tiny, red ladybug....

And, for those that don't know, in the adoption community, the appearance of a ladybug means something GOOD is going to happen soon.

For a little while, Mommy and I played with the ladybug. I was very gentle because I knew that it had to represent something good coming soon for Julie and Steven....and I can't wait!

A few other weekend pics...

Above I am modeling my new ski jacket that Mommy bought me for next year. It is a $167 jacket that Mommy bought for $12!! Wow. Bargains.

And here I am riding Daddy's bike today at the beach

After a long day...playing in the sun...riding my bike and hanging with my friend, Zoe.
