Annual Physical - Jordan (3) and Gigi (almost 6)
Last week, Jordan went to camp for the first time this summer with Gigi. He had SO much fun that he is going to go back next week for 3 days.
He also had to go to the doctor for his physical. As you can tell from this picture, he was not so pleased. The second he looked at Dr. H he started crying. We are growing giants here.
Jordan was 39.5 inches (85th percentile) and 35.5 lbs (80th percentile). He grew almost 5 inches from last year and 6.5 lbs.
Gigi was 46 inches (75th percentile) and 45 lbs (55th percentile), 5 lbs and 4 inches more than last year.
Look at this brave boy about to get his shots. The nurse gave him these two toys to hold onto that light up and he didn't even realize he was getting shots. He is almost smiling in this photo.
A price pretzel after the doctor and some fun on 3rd Street in Santa Monica.

The Swim Whisperer
Gigi and Jordan had an hour/day of swim lessons this week with the "swim whisperer". Not his real name, but he truly had a way of getting all the children in a group setting to learn to swim in a loving and nurturing environment.
Jordan now dives into the bathtub and is okay with water in his face. And he is swimming!
Gigi's moves improved....using a stroke now and gained a lot of confidence over the week.
Post-swim lesson fun at Mother's Beach. Cirque d'Jordan!

Facepainting
At a birthday party for one of Gigi's friends, Mama got inspired to try her hand at a little facepainting. So, we ordered the book for the long July 4th weekend and painted away. We made a pirate, a butterfly.....
a necklace...
an arm butterfly...
a lion!
a leopard!
More to come!!

Myrtle Beach!
The day after school ended, we headed to Myrtle Beach. This was Gigi and Jordan's first time on Grandma and Grandpa's turf. We stayed nearby in a condo and had Grandma and Grandpa stay with us.
We kept busy making muffins and sweeping the porch.
The resort had a great lazy river, splash park and a lot of fun pools.
Jordan was always telling us which way to go with his map.
Found on Grandma and Grandpa's refrigerator...
We went to Brookgreen Gardens one day. What a wonderful place to hang out with gardens, a Storybook forest, trails, animals and more.
Oh, and Gigi's second butterfly pavilion of the year.
We went to Pirate's Cove for a show and dinner.
Mama finally got her wish to build a sand castle. We spent a lot of time in the pool and less time at the beach.
Jake and the Neverland Pirates ship from Grandma and Grandpa with an early birthday celebration.
